Cute Ways

Cuddle a teddy,
wish it goodnight,
say a little lullaby,
sleep with it tight.

Let the angels,
take you to the stars,
chocolaty mars,
shimmering icebergs,
coral seas,
in this night,
there is just too much to see..

In the morning,
you wake up and find,
no gem-filled pathways,
no angel who is kind.
No tiny fairies,
with wands in their hands.
No time to explore,
faraway lands.

The freedom of dreams,
so vast, so free,
that is the world,
meant for me.

I wait for the night,
to enter the world,
which is in my dreams,
where magic unfolds...

Post

I see the postman!

He's coming this way!

I wonder what letters he has,

for me today!

The postman comes near,

and gives me a smile.

I smile back at him,

and he hands me a file.

I look at him confused.

I had nothing to say.

He told me to give it to my father,

without further delay.

Were there no letters?

No parcels for me?

While I stood thinking,

a red ant bit me.

I shouted in pain,

and fell to the ground.

The postman helped me up,

and from his pocket fell a pound.

He turned to leave,

but suddenly he stopped.

He noticed that the pound,

which was in his pocket had dropped.

He bent to pick it up,

and from his bag, a letter fell out.

The letter was for me!

I wanted to shout!

I picked it up and skipped away happily,

filled with glee.

Inside, a lucky catch,

a trip to France for free!

Ganesha

Ganesha, Ganesha, come to my home,

Its not in France, Delhi or Rome.

It is in little, pleasant Bangalore,

Where the Cauvery, your lake flows.

Ganesha, Ganesha will you be my friend,

not for fashion fame or trend.

We can play together all day long,

Or sing a happy, friendship song.

Ganesha , Ganesha, little lord,

everyone bows their head to this god,

You and the world are joint by a cord,

Ganesha, Ganesha little lord.

Mom's Day Off

It's mom's day off,
she really needs some rest.
The duties were handed to me,
and, well, I tried my best.

I cooked some biryani -
but it was a waste.
I had forgotten to add flavour,
so it had no taste..

There was some orange juice!
It was a blast!
Well, actually an explosion-
I squeezed the orange too fast.

The floor was pretty clean,
there wasn't a tiny bit of dust anywhere.
Except in the kitchen, my bedroom and all the bathrooms,

there was a little dirt somewhere here and there...

I folded the clothes,
by rolling them into balls.
When it was time to put them into the wardrobe,
I couldn't tell if they were my shirts or my mother's shawls.

I went to the market!
But, unknowingly stepped on a shawl.
Frightened, stepped back,
and from the shelf I knocked of a porcelain doll.

I had to pay for them,
they were a really huge price!
Well, no big deal,
It has already happened twice...

All my efforts were in vain,
because my mother said:
"Thank you sweetie for your pain,
but please, NEVER take care of the house again!
