NO SALARY FOR YOU, SANTA......

Santa lived with his family, his wife,Cream Claus, his son Mint Claus and daughter,Candy Claus. One day, Mint Claus and Candy Claus started to complain. They said,"How come we do not get any pocket money even though we help you all year making and packing gifts?" Santa Claus was angry. He thought," When they were small, they were happy to help me. Now, I don't know what has happened to them!" Mrs Claus could see he was too angry to even speak. She replied instead of him. " Don't you understand? You should be happy to know that others are happy because of you. In giving we receive, remember?"

Mrs Claus stayed firm, only for a week, though. On her birthday, she didn't receive any gift - she was waiting for her gift all day. By the evening, she was boiling mad.She gave Santa a disgusted look.  But all that Santa said was "You know that it is December...I cannot afford to spend any money at this time of the year."Mint Claus and Candy Claus giggled.

A week before Christmas, Santa was checking if he had packed all the gifts and he realized that he forgot to make one present- a blackberry mobile. He looked at his own phone- it was the same model. He didn't have time to make a mobile, and he didn't want to give his own phone either. He thought,"It's not fair! I spend all year making and wrapping gifts and I don't even get any money! He called the 'Gifting Authorities' and told them that if they wanted him to work for them, they would have to give him money. The minister sighed. He knew that Santa and his family had forgotten all about the 'pleasure of giving'.

The minister sent his P.A. to Santa. At first Santa thought that the P.A. had come to give him his salary, but the P.A. said that he had come there to show them something. The P.A. showed them videos of the kids who had gotten the presents last year. The Claus family was delighted to see how many kids they had pleased. By the time the P.A. finished showing them all the videos, Santa and his family were ready to please kids all over the world again, only this time with double energy.

All Alone

She seemed like an angel when I first saw her,
I thought she was the perfect friend.
I thought the day would never come,
when our friendship would end.

We played together all day long,
we had so much of fun.
We had sleepovers at each other's house,
and played with her dog, Bun.

One day though, she announced,
that she was shifting away.
I gasped in horror as I realised,
we might never again meet or play.

Tears filled my eyes as I said goodbye,
and her car disappeared from view.
I clutched the teddy bear that she had given me as I thought,
"this is too bad to be true."

I don't know why, maybe no one liked me,
I didn't make a single new friend.
I felt very lonely and I felt like crying,
I felt as if in front of me, there was a dead end.

After 2 years, my friend came to visit,
and I was overcome with joy.
To my surprise she treated me,
like an old, forgotten toy.

I tore apart the teddy she had given me,
I clenched my fist as I thought about the attitude she had shown.
Then I strengthened up as I thought that I had to carry on,
even if I was lonely and all alone.

Soccer

I bought a brand-new photo frame,
to put the picture of the time I won the inter school soccer game.
I kicked, I blocked, I was certainly the best.
I made goals, I dribbled the ball and I outdid the rest.

When we won the game, my teammates cheered.
The girls of the other team made rude faces and jeered.
As if I didn't notice them, I smiled wide with pride.
The girls of the other team just stomped and cried.

The audience clapped,
my school flag flapped.
My teammates lifted me onto their shoulders,
when a few teachers came with a few folders.

They gave away the prizes with smiles on their faces,
and, finally, came the trophies in clear glass cases.
When I saw the shiny trophies, I was filled with glee;
to my surprise, there was a trophy, just for me!!!
