Soccer

I bought a brand-new photo frame,
to put the picture of the time I won the inter school soccer game.
I kicked, I blocked, I was certainly the best.
I made goals, I dribbled the ball and I outdid the rest.

When we won the game, my teammates cheered.
The girls of the other team made rude faces and jeered.
As if I didn't notice them, I smiled wide with pride.
The girls of the other team just stomped and cried.

The audience clapped,
my school flag flapped.
My teammates lifted me onto their shoulders,
when a few teachers came with a few folders.

They gave away the prizes with smiles on their faces,
and, finally, came the trophies in clear glass cases.
When I saw the shiny trophies, I was filled with glee;
to my surprise, there was a trophy, just for me!!!

True Friends

One fine day, I decided I wanted to go for a walk in the park. So I called my friend and asked her if she wanted to come with me. "Sure," she said. So we both headed towards the park. When we reached, we heard many girls giggling together. Then I saw who was making all the noise- Rina and her friends. They were very mean girls who were also very popular at school. They had a particular dislike for me and my friend. As soon as Rina saw us, her happy expression turned into an expression of pure hatred. All her friends started to whisper in each other's ears. My friend (whose name was Aditi) said, "Let's go from here. With Rina and her clique in the park we won't have any fun." Though I thought the same, I said, "No, let's stay here. Don't worry, she won't be able to spoil our fun." So we both ran towards the swings. "Oh, what luck! Today both the swings are free. We can swing together!" exclaimed Aditi. It was one of the rare occasions when both the swings in the park were free. Usually they were occupied and we had to take turns to swing. We both sat on the swings and had just started swinging when Rina came towards us. She said, " Hey , get off that swing. I want it. " "No, we got the swings first. You will have to wait for your turn," I said. " Don't mess with me. My father owns the company your parents work in. I can get them fired," said Rina, with a triumphant tone in her voice. " Well, your father doesn't own these swings. So we won't get off until we feel like it," said Aditi." I see. I shall see to it that your parents lose their jobs," said Rina and then went back to her friends. "What will I do, Aditi? Now my parents will lose their jobs!" I said. "Don't worry, we'll think of something," said Aditi, calmly. Just then we heard someone saying"Oh no!". It was Rina. We ran towards her. She was covered in mud! None of her friends dared to come near her. They were saying that she was stinking and they would get dirty too if they went near her. "Though Aditi and I did not like her, we were felt sorry for her.Rina, did you slip in that puddle?" I asked. "If you want some spare clothes you can get some at my house," Aditi said. " Thank you. Today I realised that you are my true friends. I am sorry about being so mean to you both," said Rina, looking at me and Aditi. " I guess that means we are friends now," said Aditi.Aditi and I took Rina to my house and helped her clean her dress. We also gave her spare clothes to wear. "Now that we are not enemies, let's celebrate by having a sleepover!" I said- and that's exactly what we did!

A Day Passing By

When the sun starts to give us light,
after the dark and gloomy previous night,
you can see clear, tiny dew drops,
on flowers, trees, grass and crops.

Soon the animals come out to hop and play,
giving the signal that it is day,
birds start chirping and start singing,
to wake us like an alarm ringing.

Newspapers then drop at our doorsteps,
and at this time you can hear many footsteps,
the traffic then starts increasing,
not showing any sign of easing.

Everyone then goes to office or school,
and starts to obey the discipline rule,
till it is time to go back,
with our heavy, backpack.

The light then becomes less and less,
and then its time to say goodbye to the day, I guess,
and when I see the stars in the sky,
I know that another day has gone by. . . .

A funny little furry ball

A funny little furry ball,
came up to me and said:
"For just one night can you give me
shelter, food and a bed?"

There was no harm in what it said,
so I went ahead and said 'yes'.
But I had made a big mistake,
because it made my house a great big mess!

I showed it a corner in my bedroom,
where it could easily sleep.
But instead of being thankful,
it had started to weep.

So I ended up giving it my own bed,
while I had to sleep on the floor.
I wondered why it only had to,
knock on MY home's door?

It ate, and ate, and ate,
and finished all the food I had got!
"For it's little, tiny size,
it eats way TOO much," I thought.

And, to keep it in my house all night,
what reward do I get?
a bathroom, kitchen, bed and wall,
all very, very wet.....

I was relieved when it left,
and locked the door as soon as it was gone.
After an hour I went back outside, and, hey,
it turned out that it had accidently toppled paint all over my lawn!

2012 Has Sprung Up!

2012 has finally approached!
And that means new fun for everyone!
A fresh new start to everything,
after important work in 2011 has been done.

It will be a great year,
you and me already know.
But one thing to keep in mind this year,
is to forget every foe and woe.

Now my birthday will come again!
All the festivals will come again too!
There will be new movies and songs,
and more theories shall be proven true!

Some people believe,
that this year the world ends.
But for now I will just celebrate new year,
with my best friends!

Circus!

I went to the circus
where I had lots of fun!
There were jolly clowns and acrobats,
who made me laugh a ton!

There were jugglers juggling balls with ease,
acrobats leaping here and there!
Soon elephants came in marching with pride-
there was a jolly atmosphere everywhere!

The clowns started making us laugh,
by doing some short skits.
We even got some free food to eat
like cotton candy and  banana splits!

 A few girls did ballet,
in a graceful way.
Then monkeys started to ride bicycles,
and  wonderful music started to play.

A magician showed us an astonishing magic trick,
 and there was much more.....
I started to wonder why,
I never went there before!

Mirror

Inside the mirror I can see,
someone who really looks like me.

If my hair are messy,
it shows me how they look.
When I can't decide what to wear,
I looked in the mirror and the decision it took!

If I am eating chocolate
and it smears on my face.
The mirror shows the exact point it is on,
and I can wipe it off that place.

The person inside the mirror I can see,
always seems to be helpful to me!
